will the Lewandowski and the ones that wiener listed all free spool after a fish hits and starts to run with it? thanks
Yes. There is a wingnut on it. I set it to the depth I want and adjust the wingnut just enough to keep the minnow from being able to pull line.
when a fish hits and takes off, the wing nut loosens and the reel freespools.
Just make sure that when you put the line on it is the right direction. Otherwise pulling line will tighten the wingnut and the fish will feel resistance.
I have caught perch, trout, walleye, and crappie on the rattle reel pictured.
Hope this helps,
Wiener
