Take a look at the fish records, that'll give you a pretty good idea.

They always put some slammers on the board at the Hortonia derbys.

I have heard guys do really well in the mid lake region around Burlington. The deeper the water the better. And since the alewifes were illegally introduced, the guys I know having the most success are using mid-size shad/shiners. No vexlar or cameras either...just old fashioned minnow jigging.

I know fishing is the spring I have caught crappies near front Ticonderoga.  Mostly in some of those little bays on the vt side.

you should find some success in most of the big bays that have weeds.

your best bet would be lake Champlain on the southern part of the lake and lake hortonia and sunset lake in rutland county area
I do all types of fishing; but I am Die hard Ice angler.
I love Ice Fishing the lakes of Rutland County. Recently moved to NY and now will be Ice fishing the Lakes Of New York.

Hey Champlain,  St Catherine ,or hortonia but I have no idea where they are in hortonia I've gone in the summer and only caught small ones 8 to10inch my biggest is from Champlain 14" and its such a big lake there's got to be a monster in there some where. A lot of my friends catch them in St Catherine and I have to but I just don't go there as much. Any place you go will have that one hony hole tho you just have to put the time in to find it good luck.
