Those lakers are like freakin baby whales. Can you possibly imagine getting one of those through the ice.
even my rigs wouldnt hold up to the smallest one in those pics!!!
Heres a nice one through the ice. I had it on here a couple years ago. I am holding it in this pic, but my buddy caught it, I did take him out to a good spot that day though, . 42 inches, weight unknown, I do know it barely sqeezed through a 10 inch hole, I remember kneeling by the hole to grab it when it came through and the 4 ft of water in the hole had no where to go but straight up, soaking me. Which means a girth of around 30 inches. Its a poor quality pic, scanned. Any estimates on the weight Natwild?Master Angler Beautiful Fish, That must of been some fight. Caught on a rod or tipup? The Conversion scale for released fish for a general weight, This doen't take into account how the fish carry's it weight for girth ie. if it has girth all the way down or just in one spot.length x girth x girth divided by 800 = apoximate weight of fish42 x 30 x 30 divided by 800 = 47 poundsThe girth looks to be in the 27 inch range(from the pic) but like you said a picture can make it look many different sizes. I have 3 pics of a 50" pike that make it look like a 35 lber a 30 lber and a 25 lber. it weighed 32 lbs.42 x 27 x 27 div 800 = 38 lbsfrom the pic it looks to me to be a 35 to 40 lber.Athapap fish? or?I never caught any big ones ice fishing yet but am heading up to build cabins soon so i may get some time in yet this season( open till April 15 in the north zone)I'll post on and let you Know how it goes.I'll be posting this summer on myfishfinder some of our lodge pics. check em out 8)
