Whats ur favorite Hub shelter?
« on: Jan 10, 2013, 10:27 PM »
I had a new Clam Bigfoot XL4000T. It was a very nice shack, but it was way to big and heavy for how I fish. I hand pull my sled so the Clam weighing in at 42lbs. was kind of heavy. The Clam also was still very long when it is folded up. I hole hop alot so most of the time its just a place to warm up,but there r times when I take the family with and we sit in one spot all day. So I need something with space but also light. Any ideas?
 Thanks
  Matt

42 lbs too heavy? Funny, one of the big reasons I bought the XL4000T was because it is so light for an insulated hub. I don't know what's going to be lighter... maybe a Pak Shak for when you are hole hopping? But when you are sitting with the family, I can't imagine anything else being so light and easy as the 4000. Maybe one of the uninsulated bigfoot 2000's? Probably only save you 5-8 lbs.

The 4000 weighs in at 42 lbs. The 2000 is 35 lbs. And the 949 is 27lbs. I know there not thermal but that's not that important to me. It would be nice to lose 15 lbs to have to pull out on the ice.
