my opinion is in ny it is a waste of time to use them.... 5 tipups work perfectly fine and nothing like jigging with 3 hand lines to spend the time... I don't miss many fish and I've never touched them. In my opinion they are just like any other mechanical device they will break and it'll happen at the most inopportune time
Loudmouth879.......it's 2 hand lines for ice fishing. Better not use 3 or the ECO's will get ya.
Please note: the definition of angling changed on August 17, 2011, to allow an angler to operate up to three lines in freshwater. Where ice fishing is permitted, 3 hand lines plus 5 tip-ups may be used.
"Reminder: In NY, JawJackers are classified as tipups." I use the Automatic Fisherman - they come with a strip of red duck tape. You will need something like this on your rod tip for either of them. This is considered the "signal" devise which classifies them as a tip-up.Notice the tip of her rod ...(Image removed from quote.)
