whitehall
« on: Feb 21, 2006, 12:55 PM »
I fished whitehall all day on monday.  There was a bunch of guys holding a little derby there who were nice enough to include me in thier fun.  Had a great time, met some nice people but the fishing was real slow!   I had about 5 flags and just one pick. on a jiggin pole.  The entries into the derby were slim, and if you had a fish, you were in the money just about.  I was surprised at how thick the ice was, it ranged between 10"-14".   How have other people done at this pond, is it worth going back to?

There is a Whitehall Pond in Rutland, MA. It's part of Rutland State Park.

I was talking about the whitehall in rutland.  Mugz I took 122 then past the entrance to long pond on the left and took the next right which had a sign for rutland state park.  Then I took the forst left which has another sign for rutland state parkand there is a pretty big parking area at the end of that road.  I got on there, the beach was about 150yds on the right.  Hope that helps.  I think I might try it again this saturday if anyone else is interested.  I think it is the closest pond to me that still has decent ice?
