Preserved Shad

Has anyone use presserved shad in the bag?  My target speices is pike, has anyone had any luck with these? ???

Means no one uses them! No, never have tried them in  the hardwater season, tried them on open water, wasn't particularly thrilled with them.

I used them open water before with no luck they are dried out, very flat and like to float I was not happy with them at all. I Think I tried them last year on my spoon Jigging with no luck. at 4 dollars a bag i was not a satisfied customer

i tried them last summer, not very happy, didnt seal the bag tight enough. stunk up my whole tackle box.

I have used them but not with any luck . My bait of choice is dead smelt with a 6d finish nail up the hind end so the bait will sink and stay level and there are no weights for the fish to see . I also always only hook my bait with only one of the three hooks on my treble . Another trick I learned was to remove the hook clasp on my leaders and replace them with a split ring so you wont get any bent or straightend clasps causing a lost fish . good luck and safe ice .
