You do need a 2012 licence to fish the stocked trout lakes in April.

I was wondering the same thing Broom Jocky.

I hope we can use our current 2011 / 2012 licence, if not, we would have to wait to near the end of April for the new ones to come out.

WW:  the new licences will be out before the end of March so that people can fish stocked trout waters that are listed in the guide come April 1.  Your 2011 licence will expire as of April 1.

Cool, thanks for clearing that up duffster, good to hear they will have them out early.
It would be a first for me to ice fish in April and I hope to try it as long as the ice is safe.
