Park Rapids area

Any reports from this area. I have a buddy with a cabin on Portage and want to make a trip from SW Iowa and do some fishing there. I have fished Fishhook for crappie and caught a lot a big bass and a 44" pike out of Portage over the years. Any suggestions would be appreciated. How long will there be ice in that area?

vics, our ice is holding up realy well if you do decide to come up let me know before hand
and i'll try to check out the lakes.

Thanks hard ice. I was laid off last week and will soon be wanting to take advantage of the free I unexpectedly have. Also going to try and go to see my brother. In Texas and shoot a few of the pigs in his hay fields. I will let you know if I am coming up. How leate into March will you normally have ice?

Normly around the end of march im done fishing til next winter
