Anyone been out around Sioux falls area lakes or Madison area lakes after rain and flooding? What did all the water do to the ice?

Slush firmed up under the snow a little bit the past few nights. Where there was water, there now is a layer of ice, a layer of water, then the main ice sheet.
Further north it's the same thing, although the "top" layer was thicker.

ATVs were getting around pretty good on Poinsett on Sunday according to a co-worker. Snowmobile would be fine on most lakes around here. We didn't have any problem on the 1 lake we took the sled out on Saturday. Walked out on the other.
Could probably have driven the truck out but the access and access road were blown in yet.

How much ice were you finding? With the way the weather is looking for next few days, I might just bring my lawn chair and soak in some nice weather and maybe watch a bigger go down!

I didn't measure with a tape, but I'd guess 24"-30" based on where the stopper is set on my ducer float.
