CT River Flow reports?
« on: Mar 23, 2011, 08:08 PM »
Anyone familiar with a website that will provide
either a CT River Cubic Feet per sec flow report for Hanover area
or report on when utilities are releasing water to make power?

There were reports from some of the responders fishing CT river setbacks
about impact on fishing results.

It takes 6 hours for the water that is let out of wilder to reach hoyts landing.  And then another six to reach BF.  There are two sites that I use.  The first one shows the flowage level.  The second is a schedule ofr when they let water out of the damns.  I have noticed that when the water is moving is the best for the panfish.  "Slack" water is not cool, the fish don't bite.  Usually when the water is a little higher than normal is when the best fishing is.  What are you looking to catch?

Hope this helps, i'm trying to get to sp one more time.

I was going to start a new thread on anyone who had pointers for fishing the CT River this time of year. I am thinking about going from shore maybe in the Woodsville to Haverill area +/- over the weekend. I saw the river was raging in Woodsville last weekend. Is it worth heading out? (Well fishing is always worth going...who am I kidding?)

I use the h2o line when I fly fish south of the bellows falls dam on the ct river. Have had real good luck with it. I live close to the river so I can get a reading on line then go check the flow. Seems to serve me well over the years.
