crappie morning
« on: Feb 08, 2024, 03:12 PM »
fished locally yesterday morning. 1st 2 attacked the little jig with a white waxtail. After that, they'd chase and stop. wouldn't bite without a little meat on the hook. Lost another jig to another horned pout yesterday. 2nd time.

Do they know if it’s been the same for everyone else, but the panfish have been super aggressive down here this winter

Yes and no, had both experiences already this year, very aggressive and locked jaw, but it was 5 locked jaw days for 7 good action days soo far, pretty fast action when it's a good day!
What I have found this year is the crappie and white perch schools are on the move a lot and fast, previous years you could sit on a hole for 1 or 2 hours and have fish consistently on the flasher, but this season not at all, they come for 5 or 10 minutes and the whole school just races away.
