Some sporting goods stores have recycling bins for your old line.
I respool once or twice a year and I just throw it in the trash.
Is there a problem with trashing it? Why do you hate to throw it in the trash?

I am a firm believer in supporting the fishing line manufacturers...I respool often...I fish a lot....Just wad up the line and cut it into small sections. I have a motorized spooler I made and can remove the used line from a stripping spool so it's easy to take the scizzors and cut it in a couple of places.

Most all sporting good stores have a recycle bin for mono, floro and the like. Dacron can be burned or balled up and trashed. The new braded lines like fire line, I dont know if burning would release toxic fumes, or if it can be recycled?

I usually just wait till the next time I go fishing....then tie a 3/4 oz. sinker to it and send it to the bottom of the body of water I'm fishing.
Okay I throw mine in the trash.....I like the recycle idea though. I think I will check with Dick's in Rochester and see if they have recycle bin.

I usally wait for the water skiers and throw a wad out in front of their boat. Sometimes works on the Jetskis. Gets rid of them for a few days while they put seals in.
I send it to the recycle.
