northwest corner snow
« on: Jan 27, 2011, 07:14 AM »
Well the good news is we only got 5 inches or so up here! I was afraid of having to walk through 3 feet to go fishing.

I'm about 20 minutes from Coventry Lake so I'm sure it's around a foot too.

About a foot of fresh snow here in coventry. Gonna be tough slogging and the quad refuses to go through all this snow.

Probably got 14-18" in Ellington. Dunno what made me decide to put on 4 snow tires instead of my usual 2 back in December, but I'm sooo glad I did.

Since Ellington mostly ignores the side roads until later, it took me about 15 minutes to blaze a trail through 1ft of snow with my car, uphill (maybe 2 tenths of a mile). Then I had to use it as a battering ram for a few more minutes to get onto Rt.83 through the snow bank. Ain't never been stopped by the snow in 30 years, never will. ;)
