It's my birthday weekend; off from work and ice fishing this weekend. Any info on safe or unsafe ice conditions are welcome; thank you in advance.

Hit one of the state lakes over the weekend; a solid 9 inches Saturday morning; lots of water on the ice by midday. Went back Sunday with more of the same; fished all day both days but the shoreline was deteriorating fast Sunday evening. Bite was good in the morning and evening for crappies and gills; caught several nice largemouths and a few bonus white bass. Glad I got this weekend in with the upcoming weather. May have to concentrate my future efforts from the docks on the bigger lakes til we see safe ice again.

Glad you got to go Eyecross. Bite has been good for me on everywhere I fished the last 3 weeks (crappie). Hate to see the ice go. Looked at the
extended forecast into Feb, may get some more ice for a bit, who knows though.

Made it out 3 times and did pretty good each time we went; mainly fished panfish; never made it to the big lakes.
