Great question! I don't see why it wouldn't; I certainly have thrown out plenty of roe this season... shoulda kept it

Open a cold beer and take a sip....clean the perch eggs in ice cold water, take another sip of beer, dip the egg sacs in eggs, take another sip of beer, now roll the eggs in seasoned bread crumbs and take another sip of beer.  Now get the oil nice and hot and put the eggs in and fry till golden brown.  Take out of frying pan and put on paper towels.  Now it's time to get another beer and toss the eggs in the trash....I've tried them several times and different ways and no thanks, I'll take the filets!

LOL the roe is an acquired taste.   I've had them cooked for me by more than one perch egg connoisseur, and they always tasted nasty to me.   But then again I hate fishy tasting things.   Give me the delicious perch fillets, you can have the eggs! ;D

Just tried 'em for the first time.  I tried the boil 'em first then deep fry and then deep fried some fresh.  The boiled/fried were firmer but fishier.  The freshly removed/deep fried were reminiscent of fried oyster bellies in texture and taste.  Not really my cup of tea, but I might try 'em again - just hate to waste.  Is there any way to cook 'em well without deep frying?

Break 'em up a bit and pickle 'em.

Use a fish pickle recipe and when ready, rinse in a paper coffee filter and let drain.

They go well on a party table near the crackers, chips, olives and dip.

Just keep the source to yourself ~ Ah, success.

I've tried dipping them in eggs then flour and deep frying them and cooking them in oil in a pan, neither tastes good. The last several times, I cooked them in butter in a pan and they turned out delicious. Butter gives them a much better taste.
