Yes there is public access.  It is located on the north side of the east shore off Glengary Road.  The police or fire department is on the drive that goes back to the access site.  I have caught pike in there during the summer right off the boat ramp.  One pike I didn't have hooked, it just was holding onto my live bluegill in its teeth.  I got him up to the dock and he let go of the gill and started to smim off.  My buddy wadded in and tried to grab the exausted fish with his barehands, fried his cell phone in process, and of course the fish got away too.     :P

You could try the west side of the lake (the side by Benstein Rd) for pike.  That would be a hike from the boat launch.  I used to live in that area.  My wife and I would canoe around and fish.  Its been four or five years since I last fished it.  And I have never been on it during the winter. There are alot of shallow areas and about six deep basins.  You can get a map on the DNR website.

Why is it I've never heard of this lake?  Where may I ask is it located?  Good luck all.  I'm always trying to find new water to pike hunt in.

I wouldnt say its that good of a lake because ive have gotten skunked on it plenty of times
the fish some times bit and sometimes dont bite at all but  if they bite they bite and you can catch a lot. my friends step dad caught a 40+ inch pike on the lake. I bass fish it atleast 4 times a week in the summer and do pretty good  but in the winter i do a lot worse. A couple weeks ago i was out their for 2 days on tip ups and caught nothing.
