Stearns I580 vs Mustang 2175
« on: Dec 14, 2007, 12:41 AM »
I am considering an immersion suit and have narrowed choices down to Stearns I580 and Mustang 2175.
Both seem to run around the same price..$359.00, are available in green/olive as well as the bright colors.
Does any have any experience with these suits?
Kids that hunt, trap and fish don't mug little old ladies.

Big moves to find'em, small moves to catch'em!

I would recommend the Mustang. When I was stationed up in Alaska with the Coast Guard, I personally had Mustang suits for out in my boat. The CG also had Mustangs. The ship we were on the command actually made everyone get in the water with the suit on so we would know what to expect if it was necessary. There was so much flotation in the Mustang that you could almost sit up and remain floating by what what around the legs in them. They were quite warm also when running in the boat. So anyway, just my 2 cents.
