Good weekend of fishing
« on: Nov 15, 2007, 10:48 AM »
Hey everyone, just got back from the annual fall trip out west and boy was it fun.  We enjoyed fantastic weather, good flows, lots of laughs and some fish to.  I could see the disappointment on bluefins face when we returned. Next year bud, we'll get'r done.

met this little guy first morning real early.  We were in his way, back to his hole. Came w/in 10" of me.

First fish of the trip

My buddy Brian with a slob laker

Mike with a nice laker

Mike with a small trib brown

Another brownie for me

Finally some metalheads

pig

another nice steelhead

Finally, can you name this fish? I think it's some sort of goby?

All in all, it was a great trip and I can't wait to go back, thanks to my friends that always make it a memorable one. ;D

ifishhi: About 10 hours west, WNY.

Slammer: The fish are great, but, just the trip and the scenery are worth the price of admission. ;D

MA: I'd love to tangle with a few like that this winter, but, around here, few and far between, that's why we travel to them in the fall.

sweet weekend  :o  did you catch those lakers in a river along with the browns and steelies?  how big was brian's?  looks pretty nice.

i have never seen anything like the minnow you're holding in your hand around my parts, but i've seen a picture of one that looked similar.  is it a brook stickleback?

Brian's Laker was pushing 15-18lbs.

Thanks fellas, that's just the pics I could get on my camera.  My buddy Brian took a  lot of pics of Mike's fish and I should get a disk from him soon.

Buddah, we left Wed afterwork, 4pm on the road, arrived at our destination at 2am. Slept in the car until 5am, got some coffee and hit the river until dark.  First day is always the toughest with minimal sleep.
We fished Th/Fri/Sat, home Sunday by 330pm.  We were going to fish Sunday till noon, but, man, we had our fill and knowing the long drive back, we split early am to surprise the wife/kids. ;D

The bait fish looks like what I have heard called (not sure of spelling) Kielly Fish. Killy Fish.
Thats Why They Call It Fishing.
