Are there any lakes close to Billings with Pike, and is spearing legal on them? I am moving to Billings next week and was hoping for some good lakes within a half hour drive. Any advice would be very helpful.

There is not much around the Billings area for pike. Tongue River and Castle Rock are probably the closest. Deadmans has tiger muskie. If you find somewhere closer let me know. Good luck.

Thanks Riverb8. Have you fished Cooney yet this year? I am moving to Billings next week and was hoping to get in some more ice fishing before the seasons over. Tight Lines.

I haven't fished Cooney this year. Went a couple times last year and didn't have very good luck. I haven't even heard what the ice conditions are. If you go, let me know how you did.
