First one in the Pike / Musky entry.


It was caught on New Years day and was my first fish of the ice fishing season.

My first pike through the ice, and my first fish on a tip up!  I gave extra room at the beginning of the tape to get a good measurement.  It is NOT a 37 inch fish.  I'm not trying to cheat, just trying to make it easy on whoever does the official measuring.  If it's not, and this is more difficult, then my apologies!!

I don't want to give a measurement to influence anything on the official entry, but the girth was 18" measured with a cloth sewing tape, and it weighed 16 pounds on my boga grip!  I always go ice fishing or fly fishing on this day because it is the day my grandfather died 9 years ago.  I believe he was there today!!   I don't even care if this entry gets DQ'd.  I couldn't be happier today!!

WOOHOO!!!!  MAN this fishing for pike on a tip up is a riot!!!  My personal best...  AGAIN!!!  Going to post these pictures as attachments and see if they work.  Wish I was a bit more computer savvy!
