A bunch of CAGers started doing it last year and continue this year. I think I got spoiled fishing for them in open water and only target other species thru the ice.

where did you get the carp through the ice. I thought you were from my area. I have been wanting to go for those guys through the ice fpr a while now. I was tinking of trying Blanchard dam.

Believe me I was not trying to catch carp. Was fishing for crappies with a Northland forage minnow tipped with waxies. A group of suspended fish came in that I thought were crappies and wham, he took it and off to the races. When I first seen the gold flash under the ice I thought I had a nice walleye, but you see what I got. It was fun and the first carp I ever seen through the ice. The fish was caught at Sayers Dam.

Thats the second one ive seen iced the other one was about 26" long and caught around 1 am while crappie fishing. the guy thought it was a nice eye

dont get too many of them out of sayers that have txs for them will want to know your secret!! i was there one morning when those guys were finishing up they had a pickup full of those slimy dogs boy did that truck stink glad it wasnt mine!!!! bassman79

The "dead sea" is full of them here in NY but I've never seen one caught through the ice!! Nice fish!!

It was a good fight considering I was using an UL 24 inch rod and 4 pound test. He made about 3 runs when he got close to the hole. I can say one thing about the Hali dropper chains, they are strong. I used a Forrage Minnow with a Hali dropper chain and it did not break the chain. I bent the hook taking out his mouth.
