Ice at prompton and Belmont is around 20 inches ! Give or take an inch or two depending where your at . Solid ice !
Best ice here in many years . Temps haven’t been this low for so long for quite some time .
Surface is extremely slippery . Nothing but smooth shiny ice . Need good ice cleats or you’re not going very far very fast .
Good luck if you go . Judging by similar years there will be safe ice well into march .

Generally if there's absolutely no reports they're fishing it.

That said, I saw a picture from two days ago (fb) with a strip of open water in the middle.  Guessing that was the narrows but don't really know the lake.

The PA Boat Launch is not safe.

The new ACOE boat launch is safe.

So is the ice.  7 to 9 inches.  Just the way you like it.
