Clear Lake.  The fish have started to bite already. Work shallow!

Well, usually I  start on good old Union Grove. However, if the ice doesn't co-operate, I wouldn't be opposed to driving north a ways if needed. As soon as the first shotgun deer season is over, I'll be ready, if not sooner.
I'd rather be :icefish:

I'm sorry....the correct answer was Spirit Lake, IA....Anglers Bay.  Thanks for playing though!   LOL.

I'm getting pumped up.  Went to Waubay for my last long summer trip and FINALLY hammered the fish there.  On Bitter actually.  I hope Spirit can continue to spit out perch and walleye.  Been a good past 3 years...but I spose all good things come to an end.  This winter is going to be a full-on drill killer.  I'm not stopping til I get mildly tired or sorta hungry.  I'm that committed.

A co-worker was at Bitter last weekend and had really good luck too. My first ice spot was impacted by the ole Army Corp flooding experiment this summer. I think that I will head to Spirit this year. Was there last year the first weekend in December.

Seems weird...but 3 years ago my brother and I fished the grade on Big Spirit on Thanksgiving weekend and I drove my quad out onto Anglers 2 weekends after that.  there was a huge opening in the ice where the canadian geese would overnight off Big Stony.

Last 2 years I was able to fish a farm pond Thanksgiving weekend.  Hope to do that again this year.

Lakes, the first ones I check out are Rock Creek and Union Grove.
