Any Ice Anywhere?
« on: Nov 15, 2006, 01:05 PM »
Is there any ice anywhere yet? I am gonna die soon without ice as even the grand kids are bugging me to go.
Good thing about prisons- they reduce the potential number of fisherman on the ice!

Thick ice here in Palmer, Alaska-  however the mighty Chinook winds are blowing (gusts to 75mph) as well until late this week.  I'll have to head north or south for calmer seas... errrr, calmer ice that is.

Devils Lake,ND has ice!  Most of the lake should have ice by the end of the week and the smaller bays have had ice for about a week.  The smaller lakes around the area that are known for excellent pike fishing have between4-10 inches and the pike are on the bite.  Hopefully we can have everything ready and be out by the end of the week.
Good Luck,
Jeff Dosch

Was up by Tomahawk WI for Thanksgiving.  There was some ice in the bay out in front of My Parents house "maybe an inch", but most of the lake was still wide open.  I was outside frying the turkey in a T-shirt(50's).  Normally I have tip ups out while we're eating and watching football.

Good ice making temps up here now and with a forecast low of -36C this thurs (-40 is -40 either Celcius or Fahrenheit)we should get a real boost. Lots of guys are already fishing the smaller lakes. Hope you southern guys get ice soon, waiting around is just too hard on a person  :(

Hey brrrknee,

That 'was' my bearded dragon Garcia who unfortunately died a few months ago :) I own a few of them...Originally from Australia, they have become really popular lizard to own here because of how docile they are...They eat a lot :-\ Works out in the end, everytime I have to buy crickets, I can grab my weakly order of waxies as well ;D

I had ice in my drink this weekend as I sat out on my patio in a tee shirt.  This weather is getting old, fast!!  My house, auger, rods, minnow bucket, it's all sitting right next to the garage door, like a lab on hunting opener.
