Weird Green pod like things

I was filleting a perch yesterday and a bunch of these green pod looking things were everywhere. I never saw anything like that before. Does anyone know what it is?

Perch will pretty much eat anything.  In Lake Erie perch throw up zebra mussels all over the boat.  In this private lake I fish the perch are full of small crayfish in the winter.  The perch in your lake must be picking snails off the bottom

A few of the perch I got sat had same thing. Little snails an what looked like little clams

I caught the perch at kahle lake jigging right on the bottom In 25 fow. So makes sense cuz he was prob on the bottom mowing snails. But I never knew that actually so thanks for filling me in.

Xhardwaterx- that's funny cuz I said the same thing to my brother when I first saw them.

That's crazy! I had a perch on camera eat 10+ wax worms I dropped down the hole then proceeded to steal the one off my jig. Those things have a heck of a apatite. thanks for sharing I'd defiantly be freaked out if I didn't no what it was.

had a 9" perch just full of baby bluegills it couldnt swallow another one but gulped a waxie

those look a lot like the New Zealand mud snail, they're a nasty invasive. I know there are a few streams in PA that hold them but I don't know if they can live in lakes. Might have been a good idea to save a few or at least ask one of the boys in green about it next time you get checked.

Wizzle I also caught some perch at Kahle that spit up small clams!!! Gonna have to talk to my plastics guy n tell him to make some clam and snail plastics lol
