West Metro Sight Fishing Report

I spent the day over a spear hole (not spearing) sight fishing for pike. I used a decoy as my second line alternating at times with a tipup outside. I remember why I like spearing so much as a kid after one particular 34.5" pike today. It put on quite a show missing my spoon once and then it was good and agitated reared around a couple of times to attack. My most active spoon today (it did better than any of my old decoys) was a PK 1.5 ounce Nickel Flutterfish.
This is also a great way to get people hooked on fishing and is about the only time you will catch me on the ice without a Vexilar.
If you do this - mark your holes!
