New to the forums

Hello everyone,

I've lurked these forums for years and have decided it was time to make an account. I wouldn't call myself a hardcore ice guy, but when I am on the ice I love it. I fish year-round on the rivers in the Burlington area for many species and am 99% a catch and release fishermen on rivers, but through the ice I will keep panfish and the occasional walleye.   

I purchased an Ion electric auger last year, and an LX7 this year.  Very happy with the Ion so far but have yet to use the LX7.  I look forward to talking to and meeting fellow anglers and sharing information on gear and tactics!

I do all types of fishing; but I am Die hard Ice angler.
I love Ice Fishing the lakes of Rutland County. Recently moved to NY and now will be Ice fishing the Lakes Of New York.

Welcome to the Shanty!  You're going to love fishing with a flasher.  Last year was my first year with one, and I won't leave home without it.

Welcome! You got some good equipment so that helps. Once you get used to the flasher you will love it. What ever one has, it is a great tool. I caught fish before but my finder has cut down on bare water and shows fish behavior. Hope it never dies!

I thought we weren't going to tell anyone about the giant clouds of white perch up there? I wonder where they will show up this year.

I think that there will be plenty for everyone.  I was out late March and they were still stacked up fifteen feet from the bottom up.

Hey Rick!

I'm hoping as well. I hear they get a big population boom when they invade new parts of the Lake and then the populations level out. Hope they're still in the booming stage so I can have more 5-bucket days, haha. I have away so many fish last year it was insane.
