I slip the line out of the guide, slip on the tip up winder, hit the button and Zip, its done !
I use tip ups like this, I've never had a problem with them and I love the visibility(Image removed from quote.)
Sometimes the lakers can be located in deep water anywhere from 40 to70 FOW, thats a lot of winding at the end of the day !
I love my heritage lakers, but I sure do miss the T spinning from my old traps.
I also switched from polars to heritage lakers and will never go back to polars because of the lack of visibility. I miss seeing the t spin and when I first set up the heritage lakers a few years back I used all black or all white line and even when I got to the hole it was hard to see if the fish was running. I solved that by switching to a dacron line that is speckled red white and blue........now I can at least look down the hole and see how fast the spool is turning! Heritage Lakers are the best bang for the buck!
