Good Ice Fishing Spots on the Winnebago
« on: Oct 28, 2010, 09:38 AM »
Hey guys.... new to the community, and pretty new to the Appleton area and have only really gotten into ice fishing over the past couple of years. Was wondering were some good areas are for pan fishing on the northern part of winnebago. Not looking for someone to give up their secret spot or anything, but an idea of where to start would help a lot as well.

Thanks

Try Miller Bay for early ice. Plenty of nice gills and perch.

I'd like to give miller bay a try this winter but does everyone just park at menominee park and walk out from there?

Only fished bago once it was this fall for perch. launched from columbia park on east side of the lake. I would like to try the lake for hard water. Should I go out from here or are there better spots. Where ever i go has to have good spots in walking distance. I dont drive my truck on ice, and have no 4 wheeler.

I've caught perch just 100yds off shore of Brothertown Harbor on the East Side.  It's halfway between Appleton and Fon du lac.  If I don't have much time to fish I just go there.

Try the marina at High Cliff. I have gotten some super gills and crappie out of there.

Thanks guys. I'll probably be sure to hit up both of those areas this season.... definitely the marina since that's only a little bit down the road.

Anyone been out on the Winnebago yet? I would check myself, but because of work, it's basically dark when I go in and dark when I come home.

Where was he fishing off of?

I heard Millers bay is good for the most part, but most that I've talked to said that so far the fish being caught have been small.
