Yes it's true Razz. I personally have seen 2 about 10 pounds come through the ice there in the past 3 years I've fished it. :o They won't hit minnows, you've gotta jig up some smelt and bait your tipups with them. I do OK on the smelt with a white #2 Swedish Pimple tipped with spikes. ;D

That looks a lot better of a day than I had on Waterbury Res. nothing but small perch nicely done.  How many tipups did your group run, never fished the pond, but always wanted to where do you access the pond.

Peacham's off of 232, the Groton state forest road. Turn onto Peacham Pond rd (its marked) go down to the Y, bear to the right and follow it all the way. Takes you right to the launch. Last year the parking area was rather slick most of the times I was there, had to put the Jeep into 4WD to get out a couple times. Its a nice pond to fish but CAN get real windy at times.  :o

There was four of us and we only ran a dozen Laker tip-ups.  Some fish came on night crawlers and most fish were caught on med shiners.

Just got back from Pecham Pond. If  anyone hears of someone forgetting some gear out there (this weekend most likely) please connect them to me.

Tried to find bait between Barre/Mont. and Pecham with no luck.  Joe's Pond wasn't open.  Any ideas?

No luck jigging up smelt for bait?!  Tried everything that fills buckets of 'em in Magog. Cut bait

Ended up jigging and trying to find the browns.  Ended up with one about 14"

Only one other group out there and one shanty.

Goose you have a phone # for Ricks? ??? It's not listed in the VT F&G list of bait dealers and I've never been there but it's closer than The Fly Rod Shop outside of Stowe. Thanks. ;D

Thanks for the info about Rick's.  I have the number somewhere and will share it when I find it.  There is bait at Joe's Pond but that means a 15 mile round trip back to Peacham and the hours are all over the place.  Open weekends and there is a number on the door that you can call to get bait at other times.

Great Pics Gooseman!   I will post some soon I hope ....Wanted to bump this to the top again and say once more that I found some tip ups frozen in the holes and forgotten on Peacham Tuesday.  If anyone hears about someone loosing them let me know.

Thanks for the info, where's the best place to target trout on the pond, or do you just focus on the edges like a lot of other ponds, reservoirs?  Might try this weekend or the next is it a good spot to go all winter or does it get fished out? thanks again

I mostly fish the edges there but folks are having luck all over.  If it was me I would set up any where along the edge of that rise from 60 FOW, some where around 12-20'.  Goose
