The spot to be careful on is the narrows from the launch into the main lake. (Garfield's only public access)  There is current down there and usually when they draw the lake down that area is open water.  I've always wondered if they did that to keep out of town people off.  There is limited parking.

Ive always thought it was to kill weeds and protect docks. But you could be on to something.

Paul from Tafts suggests this is the case.

I was out there two weeks ago on 5-6". Stopped by today for a little to do some jigging and there was 8-9" of solid ice out.

Has anyone been out here recently? Just wondering on current conditions, I may be heading out that way tomorrow.

Wasn't sure if this was a fishing topic or one regarding a past president or a cartoon cat?  ;D

Did you get on from the launch?

Not the launch, its never frozen there due to the water level being lower in the winter usually. A buddy of mine is friends with some people there and he doesn't mind if I park at his place.
