So I ended up only having a couple hours of work and decided to hit the ice. Set up by 11:00 using same holes as yesterday. Few flags and a couple small bass to start. THEN THE 9" SUCKER TILT POPS UP! The spool was smoking and the tilt was rocking!!!!!! THIS WAS THE ONE, THE ALPHA FISH!!! I managed to get the beast to the hole and then had to give it line back! I got it back to the hole and it was a HELL'EN MONSTAH!!!!!!!! Last pull to get it through the hole and it shakes free!!! ELBOW DEEP TO TRY AND GRAB IT!! UNSUCCESSFUL!!! Heart still pumping! I'll get the king bass of these waters one of these days! Could be a while though, BLIZZARD and all

Hate that. Biggest bass I got this year was on a sucker!

That sucks man, always hurts to loose a good fish but on a 9" sucker it must of been a beast

A few days ago my buddy got a 2.5 bass on a 11inch fallfish. They have big eyes and take more than they can swallow.

Thanks guys, it didn't get my sucker. Beat it up a little but still kicking in the cooler now. It was a bass, not a pike. I don't think I would try to grab a pike :-) All in all a decent ½ day. 5 bass, best about 3lbs. Left the ice about 4:30 with a smile, knowing what is waiting for my return. Winds were picking up too, started to get nippy :-)

if I was to guess, knowing what my 9.1 looked like, I would say minimum 8lbs. But I didn't get to see full length and girth. Could have been PB??!! Head filled up the hole pretty good (9")

Only reason I'm laughin is cause I saw you go elbow deep after it before. Ever seen a 6'1" dive into a 9" hole lightning fast without making a splash? It makes the Olympic high dive look easy. It's the one that keeps gettin away. Thanks for leaving her in there for me to catch, where was the hole you drilled?

I have faith you will catch "Rippleina" you put in enough time.

Ed I can tell you exactly where the hole was. You just have to wait until late season. It will be one step of buddy point lol SPLASH😀😃😄
