A little homework pays off..

Fished a new lake today. Did some research and got my butt oit there...kept this 24 incher.. let go a 16 and a 15...healthy fishery for sure. All 3 jigging a 2 inch gulp smelt.

NICE! what lake was it?

Thanks for the compliment! Instead of telling you where I'll tell you this. I wanted to catch some togue so I looked at the IFW site and found a lake within a reasonable drive that has a togue fishery. I searched the name of the lake here and got what info I could, and asked some people I know what they thought but I really didn't find any secrets. Then I looked at the state depth maps and made a plan of where I wanted to fish and I hit the lake and fished. I tried different jigs until I found what they wanted and luck was on my side. I'm not trying to be rude but to me you will learn more and be a better fisherman in the long run if you follow these steps rather than me just telling you where to go...
