I was out on a private Lake today and caught a 17 3/4 inch Crappie. I was just wondering if thats a big crappie. I have never really caught them this big before. In my books thats a big one. Whats a trophy crappie to you guys? Should I get this mounted?

If thats the biggest you have cought i would mount it. Ive been fishing for 35 yrs never cought one that big.

that is a real nice fish. Master angler for michigan is 14 inches I think.

state record is 4.12 lbs set in 1947 from lincoln lake. might want to get that one weighed at a certified scale. mount it for sure. its huge. please post pics, master angler min. length is 14" and master angler min weight is 1lbs-12oz.

If that things gotta good gut on it and measuring in at over 17 inches it MIGHT top 4 lbs... better get it weighed and checked for master angler and the books...

You fell in a spearing hole, lost your Vex, got your Vex back, and caught a 17 3/4" crappie. Talk about a giant swing in emotions!!!!! That is one beautiful looking crappie dude. Did you catch the crappie before or after your Vex sank to the bottom?

Very nice fish, I have seen alot of 15" crappies and a few 16" but that takes the cake.

Had a crappie come in and get weighed yesterday,it was 16 1/2" and was 2lbs and 5oz in weight...It was a monster...Also Kalkaska co, out of a private lake too.Flagguy83 I believe we know each other???You fish crawford for those crappies to

we went out to cadillac in the morning hen I went thru the spearing hole. Came home I live in Kalkaska couty warmed up and buddy of mine called me and said he knew where to catch some nice fish and we hammered the crappie. I think its the fish god looking down on me lol. I have been seeing some nice crappie caught in the last few days. went out tonight and caught the limit again biggest this time was only 14. Going out tomorrow hope to get a bigger one.

I know a guy/family friend right down the street where I live and he is doig it for 150 for me. but thats giving me a good deal.

I have not tryed yet. I think I am going to let it sit for a while. I have it sitting in front of a fan now. I hope it will work.

lol i know that feeling, dont wanna turn it on cuz you have that feeling it might just not work and you dont want to have the dissapointing feeling of ugh... Gotta buy a new one. Best of luck to ya, hope the thing works for ya! Howd ya retreive it?
