I would have to say that even Jack Traps were probably not his original idea... ;)  he just makes them nice.. ::).  but I would never buy one... >:(  ;)   I use the Original Mooseheads for a couple and some homemade ones for the other....

my father in law just got a nice set of maxtraps a couple of years ago. I like that he has the 4" reel on them. It makes things nice fishing deep and you have to pick up in the cold.

I have a couple of the small Max traps, but not a full set...made in West Dixfield Maine...they are a nicely made trap IMHO....Are they still being made?

I have a set of jack traps that is 26 years old, and still being used today. I would have to say Jack Traps.

Yes, they are hand formed copper spools consisting of three pieces and soldered together. And thanks for getting the picture up. I'm still trying to get the picture posting thing down........
