yup.
take the head and fins off.
rub with butter or margerine.
place in doubled foil.
sprinkle on herbs inside and out. i use italian herbs.
slice a juicy orange. (the heaviest one you can find)
put 2 thick halves inside with a couple of pats of butter.
place 2-3 slices on top.
close foil and cook on a grill, or in an oven for 15 minutes a pound or so.
open foil, and peel skin off. the top pieces will lift off.
lift out spine/ribs.
other piece will lift off skin.
enjoy.

Easy recipe for trout, adapted from the campfire.  Its not baked, but outstanding anyway.  Clean Trout, remove head, tail, fins.  Place trout on a square of foil.  Put a pat of butter, splash of beer and hot sauce to taste (I like Red Hot) in the cavity.  Fold foil over several times, then close up the ends making a sealed pouch.  Grill several minutes on each side.  Enjoy!

Hardwater...is there any other?

After dressing the trout, put the following in the body cavity:

a few sprigs of fresh dill
coarsely chopped garlic
some thin sliced lemon

Rub a little butter, olive oil, or baking Pam (depending on your attention to healthiness).

Salt & pepper the outside. When camping, we use a mixed seasoning salt.

At home, bake in the oven at 400 degress for about 30 minutes, depending on size of fish.

On a campfire, I use a grill basket so I can flip the fish without ripping apart the soft meat or having it stick.
