A few of us fished Boysen this last weekend. Perch fishing was good, caught a few nice rainbows and a ling or two. We did well considering the poor quality of fishermen I went with. The weather was beautiful. No wind!

How deep were you fishing for the perch?

The aforementioned substandard fisherman!  :)

Last weekend the 65' or deeper was where we got the perch. The bows came on tipups with a minnow about 12' below the ice or less.

I would like to make another trip to Boysen, however is is discursiveness traveling all that way and not even getting a fish. I still have a lot of learning to do of that lake before I go back.

Finally getting to go back to Boysen.  Me and a couple buddies are meeting up next weekend to try and get into some fish.  The fishing seems to be a little tougher this year from what i heard.  We fished poison creek once over christmas and ended up with one flag that yielded one little crappie.  Still cant resist going back for the weekend.

This might be my last real ice fishing trip for a while since i am moving back to seattle in a few months.  I hope its a good one.

Zack

By the way does anyone know where you could get a topo map of the lake.  I havent been able to find anything online without paying for a subscription.

I spent some time at Boysen today, hole hopping, the ice is good, the fishing...not so much, but I thought I'd post a pic of what I did to my sled to make it safe to pull across new or iffy-ice (not idiot ice)  ;) I just looped the pull rope through the eyes of the floats, actually they're dock-bumpers for a boat. And I added the ski's and a cargo carrier in back with a rod-rack etc.  :tipup:Don    LT/ISM
