What kinds of fish are there in the holding res.  I thought I heard Kokanee and perch.  Is that right.  Trying to find a close place to catch some Kokanee as bozeman area is void of them altogether.  Additionally if anyone knows a place within a few hours that has pike I would be very interested.

Kokanee and perch in Holding Reservoir.

Closest lakes for pike would be Upsata, Pishkun, or Arod.   Salmon and Swan aren't much farther than any of these either.

I work with some guys that live out by the causeway on hauser and they said there was 7",  I also heard that there was 6-8" off of pond 4 on the south end of canyon ferry.  I haven't actually seen it, so I could be wrong.  I imagine with it being as cold as it has been it is probably right.

[/Thanks for the info icechick. Love fishing the Reservoir for "Kokes", the only distaction being the 6 hour drive .  Did you fish it or were other locals fishing when you were out there?  We were guessing 6-8 inches of ice after this cold snap!  ]

We did not get a chance to fish we just ran out to check the ice. There was one guy out there fishing and he said it was a little slow. We are headed out on Sunday to check it out.

About the kokanee on the holding res.  I'd love to get up there soon.  Thinking maybe tomorrow but definitely next week.  Any pointers on a location to chase the Kokanee.  I'd like to catch some for the smoker.
