Just jump in the truck and come to VT lol.the wind beat up the ice today Sandbar lost alot of ice and the shore lines look bad.the good news is this wind has cleared most of the snow off the ice.

Went out today in central Vermont, Quechee actually and caught some nice Largemouths and many Pike. No monsters but had the whole pond to myself after 1pm today and had 7 inches of good ice. couldn't ask for more.

Gezzah & I fished Elmore yesterday. We caught a couple small pike 1-3 pounds and couple perch.
Great day out, almost 8 inches of ice, any day out of work ice fishing is a great day.

Not yet. After Christmas and year end at work I'll be able to get out. St. Albans Bay should be ready shortly if it isn't already especially after 5-10 below temps predicted tonight.

i went to fern lake today for about 3 hours to try up some jigging not really knowing how the weather was going to be and the fact that not-so safe ice is has made float bridge on bomo getting hammered by early season fishing. ice conditions on fern were schetchy at best 3" with 3-16" of snow slush slop on it. but all in all was a good day with 10 keeper perch and 2 crappie.. tight lines!!!!

I was next door at south end of Dunmore... 4 flags in 2.5 hours for 2 perch and the other 2 flags took a lot of line and were dropped. Probably Pike.

slopoker,

Were you on Fern yesterday afternoon? I pulled in the lot around 3:45 just to see how far out people were fishing. It didn't look like folks had ventured far. How much ice was out there?

Be extremely careful out there, warm weather and rain for the last couple days is gonna make the ice really soft. But if you get out there bring some medium and large shiners, or hunts, they work the best. Set some lines just under the ice about a foot, you should catch some decent pike.
If you aren't catchin any fish, you're not drinkin enough beer!

on fern theres 3 good solid inches with some crappy whit ice on it. where fern begins to funnel down from point to point is very unsafe 1 1/2 in the middle, stay on the edges. went to dunmore today 40 someodd perch in 7 hours no size but good table fare. heading to chittenden tomorrow with a group of guys.. gl cya out there!

Headed North to North Hero today and it paid off... 8 inches of solid ice and 6 pike, including my second personal best, a 14 pounder. Windy, slippery ice toughest conditions but fish like that is why we get up at 4.30am and deal with all that c r a p!!

Fishing all over Mago now.  New bait shop where Bob's Bait used to be near the East Side.  Good bait at Currier's store in Glover.  Lots of people on south bay, strawberry acres, and the islands.

The ice in Alburgh passage yesterday was about 4 inches and fading fast.... We left early as with all that wind it was melting rapidly. Only one flag but see my previous post for the day before.
