Though it probably won't last.. I wanted to scout how the places I checked yesterday had progressed overnight.  Looking like a very good start although I wouldn't reccomend thinking about fishing yet. (At least not in the places I went.)  If the ice gods were very kind to us, maybe, possibly in a couple weeks we may be able to go to a few places...hopefully the ice a bit further north is comming along better.

Spot 1 - Could step right on..after 8 or so steps though it would start to crack.  No picks, PFD or partner so I wasn't looking to run around doing jumping jacks.












Spot 2 - Could step on and ice would start cracking right away, but it would hold weight..

yea i went and checked a few places and thought about fishing but my dad had places to go so i didnt stay long.  i might go back out latter.

Bring a camera if you can.

Picures get  people interested and we need more RI people interested in fishing/shanty this year.  Seems like its still us dozen or so.
