Every plastics manufacturer claims plastics outfish livebait. So now I use livebait just for the increased challenge.

Stihl, cause I have a lot around here for leaf blowers, chain saws etc.  Comes in small cans for 1 gallon of gas 50:1,  I use 2 for a 24:1 for the jiffy. ;)
I wish I was in heaven sittin down..........on a 5 gallon pail!

I have used Opti 2 for 15 years in my Tanaka at 100:1.  The manual calls for a 24:1 mix, and initially, blended at that rate, I could not stand the smoke & exhaust fumes that the engine spit out, not to mention the oil leakage from the exhaust.  A friend well versed in 2 cycle engines recommended that I try Opti 2, as that was all he used in his Husqvarna power saw at 100:1, with premium gasoline.  I found my auger ran smoother, no smoke, or oil puking from the exhaust.  For convenience, it comes in small pouches that mix 1 gallon of gas.  All two cycles use the same blend, so my auger, weedeater, & power saws all get the same fuel blend.  I never have to throw any out because it is old.  The oil has a gas stabilizer in it, and is compatible with oxygenated gasolines.  It is by Interlube International out of Bellingham, Washington.  The best mix oil that you will find.  And no!, I am not related to anyone from the refinery!!! ;D ;D

I have to agree with bushbunny. He told me about the Opti-2 and I used it all last season and with great results. I also use it in my other two cycle equipment such as weedwhacker, snowblower,etc.. I told JigAwhopper about it and he is now using it in his auger. It minimizes the smoke, the oil drip from the muffler and overall it just seems to run better.
Another plus is it exceeds the manufacturers recommended oil specs.

Go to Interlube International's site, and ask them where the closest dealer is.  It far and away the best mix oil available.  Alberta Forestry used to use Amsoil in their high output Wajax water pumps, but have since changed!!!

Thanks for the info Bushbunny . I e-mailed them for a list of dealers if any here in Ontario .
I sure like that idea of one blend works for all .
Gets too confusing and too many different cans kicking around . LOL

Have any of you tried the strikemaster smokeless oil made for power augers? How does it perform? I'm always looking for things to better keep my auger running.

If you go with any good quality name brand oil, you will be fine.
One good thing to do is stabilize your gas. That way it does not go bad through the season.

Amsoil 2 cycle synthetic mixed at 100:1, I haven't tried the Opti 2, is it also a synthetic?  I agree run the first tank or two at 24:1 and then switch to a good synthetic at 100:1, no more smoke and they run great!

From what I understand it is best to use something like Stabil fuel stabilizer....

Driver79 -
I plan on getting a Laser Mag2000 in a few weeks and I may give the Strike Master brand a try...

I use Amsoil synthetic oil, because it runs good in my Jiffy auger and emits very little smoke.I measure with a Ratio Rite mixture measure it has every kind of mixture you possibly need. You can find Ratio Rite measuses at your local ATV dealer,Amsoil can be found at NAPA auto parts stores and I also think Murray's caries it.

I will keep Amsoil synthetic oil in miind... I have my Laser mag2000. It's seems like it takes a few pulls to get her started but maybe this will get better. Also one time I could not pull the cord at all until I took a screwdriver and moved the (fly wheel pulley) thing about a half-inch. Then I was able to pull the cord again... I hope that never happens again.

I use Blue Marble. Expensive but worth every penny. It is rated better than amsoil. Can use it for all my equipment ie snowmobile, auger, chainsaw, weed wacker, outboard motor.

Hey Guys,
I found some of that Opti 2 mix here in my town. I mixed up 2 1/2 gals.of gas to a pack of mix, put it in my jiffy and it ran just like you guys said that it would. No smoke and seems to run smoother. Could be my imagination, but I don't think so.
I just love the idea of having only ONE can of mixed gas for all of the machines.
I ordered two gals. of injector oil for my sleds and atvs.
I can't believe how much stuff a guy learns on this site...

You may want to go with opti 2 cause I just compared prices. 45$ for a gallon of blue marble. Looks like they have similar specs so I think next time I will be looking around for some opti 2. The racers are raving about blue marble but a rich racer I'm not.

Take a look at this web site, you should be able to locate a local dealer for the opti2 oil in your area.

Who knows maybe it was something simple, it is nice if it is new that the factory said to bring it back to where it was purchased and they will replace it.

i just checked the jiffy web site and it states if you use one of these synthetic oils it will void the warranty
butt i have used opti-2 before and when warranty is up then i will switch
