Jig Boxes
« on: Nov 08, 2008, 05:48 PM »
Hey guys, i'm going to be looking for a new jig box this year. I was curious what kinds of boxes everyone here uses. I'm looking for something to hold my small spoons and cj+s and my other ice jigs. Any ideas? ???

I use a pill container, one with partitions for each day of the week. got it cheap at the drugstore. Slide the cover back to get to your jigs.

I put a link to a picture on photobucket, hope it works.

I use fly boxes as well for small jogs, but when it comes to larger jogs and spoons such as buckshots I use Plano Double sided storage boxes

I'll give the fly boxes the first look over i think then if there are any issues i''l go for the pill case. I was out today in my jon boat with ice rods and all my gear only to find out the lid on my old jig case was busted. I did get 4 nice hatchery trout though.  ;D

i really like the plano boxes they fit nicely into my rod carrier and I can have everything I need in just one box bobbers, jigs, pimples, flies, weights, stops, or whatever else is small enough to get into it

I have several Perrine boxes, but my new favorite is the Plano Fly Logic.

They're the best I've found anywhere

Nice ;D

Also a flybox person here for all my small jigs.  They I can organize easily and also see them when I want to pick one to use.  My larger spoons, hooks, weights I use a plano box.  I think you will be happy with a flybox.

A second vote for the Rose Creek box.  Much the same as the bug luggage container.

What are the dimensions of that Rose creek Box.  It didn't say on the web site.  Look pretty nice. Also how many jigs do you think one will fit?

Thanks.

i like to use a specialty box made by plano. it is the model 1070.  i like it becuase it will fit spoons and bigger jigs.  you can add or take out the little spacers to make it fit what you need.

This is what I use. Fits all the jigs and lures for seperate species and room on top for extra line, leaders. I keep this in my sled of the quikflipIII and doesn't take up much room.

I used to use that type of set up,but after s season of riding across the lake on the quad none of my jigs had any paint left. Im sold on the fly boxes now.

I hear ya.  I 've ruined quite a few jigs tossing them into those big boxes.  The small ones manage to move around on their own.  I'm going to invest in a couple of those Rose Creek boxes this year.

How do the Rose Creek boxes work with small jigs, size 14 or 16?

Pike4some, I have the same Plano box...works great for me too.

The only thing I don't like about that box is if you spill a can of waxies in the top and say forget about it and bring it into your house the dead waxies and their bedding will fall out of the cracks and leave a little trail of badness throughout the house...not that I would know anything about that  ;D

I keep the waxies in the container in my pocket so they stay as lively as possible.
