Don't go alone.
Bring a rope and a plan to get out if/when someone breaks through.
Check the ice as you go, it's deteriorating very rapidly.
Ice thickness don't necessarily mean safe ice right now.
Be very cautious and pay attention to changing ice contitions while you're out there.
If you're less than 100% sure the ice is good, abort the mission. Trading your life for a fish is a very lop-sided deal.

With temps not getting cold at night, I'd be real careful. Just remember McDonalds has the double fillet-o-fish back!
