Touge recipe?
« on: Mar 09, 2008, 09:29 PM »
I am looking to bake or grill a touge and have never done it.  Anyone have any good recipes that they want to share?  Thanks!

Stuff the cavity with onions and green peppers with a few pats of butter and wrap it in tin foil and cook it on the grill. Taste great like this.

Throw out the fish and chew on foil! ;D  J/K! The real small one are great cooked like you would a Brook trout. Had them at a friends house and was really surprised!
Looking forward to some "crappie" nights!

Fillet, skin, and remove as much fat as possible.

Add oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, and pads of butter then put on on the grill.  Tasty and not real oily.

We also used to use Shake and Bake for fish in the oven
I'm just here to read what all the experts have to say.

fillet it, make sure there is no skin at all, bread and fry in a pan with oil,
or, get all the meat, mash it, add breadcrumbs and seasoning and make patties, like a fish-burger

I ended up filleting it out and using seafood lemon and dill seasoning and baked it....it was very good. My wife even ate half a fillet!  Thanks for the recipes..

Fillet it, remove the skin and belly fat. Pour zesty itallion dressing over the fillets while cooking on the grill. gets rid of the fishy taste. I tried a few different recipes this year and liked this one the best.

I found this recipe on the cooking part of this site.

Fillet and skin it, cut all fat off and cut into chunks. Take the chunks and dip into a whipped egg, then roll in Chicken Shake and Bake then deep fry ;)

baking it was really good....I liked the lemon dill crust on top....the italian dressing sounds delicious though. Maybe try that.
