Well it is time for the Ice shanty Pike get together.   Get togethers are always a good time to put peoples faces to there names.  there is always many good times hopefully everyone can make it.  Maybe bluefin can teach me how to catch a fish again (stab).  I will be bringing smoked togue from moosehead.  Dont have to bring anything if you dont want.  Or if people want to have a potluck that is cool to.

Rt. 27 towards Belgrade from Augusta (exit 112 for those taking the turnpike).....right on rts. 8 and 11....about 3-4 miles, left on rt. 8......another 4 miles or so to Horse Point Rd on the left....take that to the end

Gonna need a recon report of the parking lot at the boy scout camp, and also how the snow/ slush conditions are, it was a NIGHTMARE lastyear and all this rain!! YIKES!!

I can't make the gathering on Saturday, but I'll do my best to post a slush/snow/report by Friday.  I'll see if I can scoot down the road too and check it out - it's only a few miles from the office.  That's a good spot to focus on for your group.  I hope you guys crush em'!  But I hope I get one BIGGER!!!!!

I was there last Sunday, and it was all plowed out because the Scouts were doing a winter camping gig. Lots of snow on top of the lake and the ice was about 3 inches from the powerhead of my Jiffy.

i kept it cause it was the day of Christy's derby..i was in third and on the board until 10 of 5 when the winning fish (23lbs) came in. this girl was just a few ounces shy of 17.

I couldnt get too far out from the boat launch off 27(maybe 1/4 mile)I was on foot, but I hitched a ride with a retired master chief and his sled started bogging down and got stuck, we spent almost an hour trying to get back to fishable area. The slush was over the top of my boots before the rain started,  I saw one wheeler get stuck and alot of snowmobiles smoking.  there were a few pockets where it was mostly snow and little slush but very few.  I did see one guy get a 20lber but that was the only fish I saw caught close to the ramp.  Pretty shallow in there 5-9 feet not sure the depths you guys usually shoot for?  Hopefully we will have a couple really cold night before next weekend.
