Somewhat on topic... Thought I'd pass this on...
If this snowblindness or welder's flash happens again, or if your eyes have organic foriegn matter in them (IE-sawdust, dust/etc. not metal shavings) , Take a potato, slice it in half , not lengthwise, but thru the thick part, then cut two more thin pieces (1/8th in.) from the cut ends of the 2 pieces. Place them over your eyes, while you are lying down, & as they dry out, they will help moisten your eyes, & pull the soreness & matter out. It does work..

Avoid trying this with other veggies like cucumbers & tomatoes.... Ya might get a seed in your eye!
;)

Seriously this will work. :D

Although I wouldn't recommend onions for this

But if you get something in your eye and you need to tear it out cut an onion put it in a glass, mug, coffee cup, etc.. and put your eye over the cup, tears galore. Off topic but informative (which is what this site about).

Just like welders flash.... the next day your payin for it (Hhmmmm. bad liqur too). But How do you know?
but other than having a meter and measuring footcandles, it's a guessing game. I won't know until tomorrow if I was right.
