10th year on my original Fish Trap.

A couple of holes patched, nothing I didn't cause myself.

Have a Shappel 3000 and on its 6th year.  No tears or rips or broke hinges.  Always open it up in my heated workshop when I'm done fishing and then stuff it with 4 or 5 dryer sheets when storing it for the summer.  Dryer sheets have worked for me to keep the mice out.....

I also take it out on a nice hot summer day and hose it out and put it on blocks to air out and dry good.....then a few dryer sheets and stored until winter................

Has worked for me.........

10th year here to on my Trap 111, only 1 small rip in fabric at the bottom bar by the front door, only because i had to make a new frt bar to replace the original one when the wind caught the canvas while it was half open and flipped it over and the bar damn near knocked me out when it hit me in the head while drilling a new hole. The new pole is about 1 inch too long so it stretched the material and ripped a little while getting out the door 1 day.

About 7 years for my shappell 3000. Got one little crack in the window and sealed it with a clear pool patch the size of a quarter.

bought my fish trap pro back in '01.

its on its second sled base, but first tent still - the tent does have a few patches

the thing blew out of the back of my truck 2 weeks ago on rte 30 in central bridge.  only damage was one small tear in the cover - that was it!

i have had my trap pro, going on it's 2nd year.  it's in new/perfect shape.  had a scout a few years ago, had that since 03 and sold it in 07 i think, and it was in good shape.  a little wear up around the vent area from pulling it on the ice.

FishTrap lite about 12 years, lots and lots of duct tape that fabric ripped easy.
FishTrap II 11 Years faded badly some pin holes in fabric. Tub starting to wear out.
FishTrap Pro 3 years still like new. And my sons FishTrap Pro 1 year old also like new.

I just sold a 10 year old clam that was in great shape except for one cracked window.  My one many Otter is 6 years old (the sled is finally wearing out) and my Eskimo is 4 years old.  Take care of them, keep the canvas dry, and keep the mice away from them and you should be able to get 10 years out of them.

I have an eskimo, going on its 4th winter of heavy use.  Poles and sled have been flawless minus some wd-40 and the tent has some small rips in it from the auger but nothing to even patch and still looks like new.  I just make sure I keep it in the basement all summer so the heat doesn't dry the tent out.

I have an old clam with a wood floor that's 13 years old and still in decent shape. Half the window cracked and is duct taped (Temp was -20 for over a month, UP of Michigan) and a few other patches one from a heater melting the cover. Otherwise it's still in good shape.
