It was my first atlantic, i had been trying to catch one for forever then one day i got one and 7 more followed it along with this kind that i got using 4 pound test floating spawn.

I thought that was a king at first too, but looking at the mouth, I'm guessing it's a nice, big Atlantic hen. Nice job bro! Those wild Atlantics are beautiful!

sory sory the second fish is a king hen, 20.3 pounds, on 4lb test, took about 40 minutes

yeah its hard to find kings without the lamprey marks on em, kinda sad but oh well

Try coming to Lake Ontario. I found lamprey marks on smallmouth in the past two seasons. Almost every salmonoid you catch has a mark on it. I do my part and kill every lamprey that comes aboard in the summer.

the white river runs through my parrents back yard downstate, and one year i was fishing smallmouth and went by the old fish beds, and there was a school of about 15 lampreys spawning on it, so i threw on the ol 3 prong hook, and i got 6 of them. i have only seen them spawning like that once since then and that time i was only canoing, so i smashed as many of them as i could with the canoe paddle, actually killed on of em.
