1st Jaydogg, good day my man!
2nd what the heck it a Cajun red ice pole?
3rd for so reason the word Cajun just doesn't sound "cold" enough for anything that has to do with ice.
Unless it's some form of heated anything. Dude!

The other day the perch were hitting the cajun red ice pole before my south bend thin ice.

I have the cajun red pole, and i really like it. I have the" noodle acton" one. It's made by shakespere, and it's sold in Gander Mtn, although on my last trip there they only had walleye versions, not the perch one lime mine. It's the all red one. The guides are pretty wide which doesen't allow much ice build-up if you're not fishing in a shelter. It's really sensative, but has some backbone too. I totally recommend it, plus it comes with cajun red ice line, which is just as good if not better than trilene in my opinion. Hope that helps, and good fishin'! :)

a buddy of mine just picked one up the other day and brought it out on the ice.  It did alright, nothing special in my opinnion though.  The red line was kind of funky.  Didn't get any hits on it all day, while the rest of our rods were getting hits set up with trilene.  Could have been the jig head he was using too, who knows.  Seemed like it had decent action on it.  I'm speaking totally second hand, it was just what I saw going on.

I have one as well. I like it, as previously said big eyelets yet sensitive.  I think it was the jig head.  I have equal or greater hits on it.
For the price and No shelter I could not go wrong.

It is my newborn sons first ice fishing pole.  My fishing partner bought it for our newest ice junky.   Hope to get him out jigging in the next couple of years.   :)

The rod and reel are much better quality than the Genz junk I bought this year.

i just bought the 4 # cajun line and cant wait to try it. ive seen guys with a broom stick tipped with a spring bobber outfish the guys with the 100$ outfits. i use 4# basspro mr crappie line and tie my own tippets on below. the yellow line glows on the ice and if you pay attention, you can see the bites. jmo, tight lines and you cant go wrong with a cajun red pole.

I just got one from Bass Pro last week. Haven't tried it on the ice yet but did play around in the livingroom. Seems real sensitive. I think I'll like it.

I bought one from Gander Mountain this past season with 4lb cajun red line already spooled, and put a spring bobber on it. I love it and caught just as many fish as all the guys I usually fish with. The fisherman makes the gear, its not the other way around.  The only difference I guess is they say is the red line disappears after 8 inches in the water.

I don't know about the pole but I fished with the line on most of my poles this year and liked it.  If for no other reason being able to see it against the ice when trying to tie a hook on or get it untangle from the ice is a great plus.  good fishin

I bought one for myself last year and the pink lady one for my girlfriend. Needless to say mine has got more use but didn't miss a beat when I took it out this year, It has spiderwebs on it and I just dusted it off and used it. switched jigs tho. I am happy, I think each was $10 when we bought ours.

best darn thing since the invention of long johns...I love this pole and am going to my favorite tackle shop to get another for me and one for a friend ....this rod is the most sensitive set up Ive ever used and I am a diehard pan fisher and yes the big eyes are a plus and it has a really fat handle which is easy to hang on to ....a bonus is when you hook a fish it really feels like your battling a monster but  it still has some backbone to it

I just got one.  works great,  though the line it came with was not so good I changed it to 2lb floro.  works great for perch and bluegills.

I can't find them anywhere either- are they the same as the Shakespeare "Fuel Red" rods?  Scheels has them on sale for fairly cheap.

What a shame, looks like these aren't made anymore.  I wouldn't mind picking up a few ultralight models.   Looks like the new ones are called Fuel ice rods, but only in medium power.
